Before the Race

Registrations are being taken by full on sport. Click Register in the top right to be taken to our race profile.
For the 6.5 mile race, registration is £27 (+£2 if you are an unaffiliated member) and £37 (+£2 if you are an unaffiliated member) for the 10.5mile race.
Registration will close at 23:59 on 2nd August 2024 or when the entry limit has been reached (500 runners), so please make sure to register ASAP to avoid disappointment!

10.5 mile beast
If you are part of a club which is affiliated with Welsh Athletics, then you can use the affiliated registration. If not there is a £2 surcharge of your registration.
Due to the terrain of this race, registration is only open to those who are 18+
Race numbers will be sent via the post prior to the race, so please make sure your address is up to date.
There is a 14-day cooling-off period from the day of booking where you can get a full refund (minus booking and affiliation fees). This is only valid for bookings made more than 21 days before the event. After this, any cancelled entry will not be able to get a refund.

Race Day

Full details on what to do on race day will be sent out closer to the event. The rough schedule can be found below;
- HELP DESK OPENS - 8:00 AM
- START OF THE BEAST: 10:00 AM (10.5 mile run)
- SECOND START 10:15 (6.5 mile run)
- AWARDS CEREMONY: 12:00 PM 
- POST RUN ENTERTAINMENT
Head for Bryn Rugby & Social Club, Hillgrove, Bryn, Port Talbot, SA13 2RR and follow our Signs. Please park where available and head to the event field. There will be a pre race briefing on the event field prior to race start, so please arrive with plenty of time before the start time. 
BRAG will provide some free marshalled parking for about 200 vehicles. There is some parking in and around the village. However, attendees are encouraged to car share or use other transport where they can, as space is limited. Please be considerate of the residents when parking in the village.
After the race, there will be marshals who will direct you to t-shirt and medal collection.
Anyone (18+) is allowed to register. The race is open to all abilities! However to take on the beast you must not be under the influence of drugs/alcohol and must be fit to run and free of injury. Participation in the Event will be physically demanding.

Margam Country Park: Explore the picturesque Margam Country Park, a historic estate with vast parklands, enchanting gardens, and a magnificent 19th-century castle. Discover its rich history, take a leisurely walk through the park, or visit the farm animals at the working farm. Swansea Bay: Venture to Swansea Bay, a popular coastal destination that offers a vibrant atmosphere and a range of attractions. From art galleries and museums to lively cafes and restaurants, you'll find plenty to explore and experience in this dynamic city by the sea.

Gnoll Estate Country Park: Discover the tranquil beauty of Gnoll Estate Country Park, a charming parkland with landscaped gardens, woodlands, and a picturesque lake. Enjoy leisurely walks, picnics, and even visit the historic Gnoll House.

Once you cross the finishing line you will receive the Beast of Bryn Race finishers t-shirt, a bottle of water and a runners medal. Please ensure you join the correct queue relevant to the t-shirt size indicated on your race number bib. There will also be Post Race entertainment on-site for all to enjoy!
All prizes will be awarded to both the qualifying Male and Female for the long race. The prizes will be 1st £140, 2nd £70, 3rd £35. For the short race, the prizes will be 1st £70, 2nd £35, 3rd £20
Facilities include access to parking, chip timing, bag drop, toilets, medical cover, refreshments, help desk and a lot of marshals to help!
First Aid will be under the control of the Western Beacons Mountain Rescue Team, who will ensure that any issues that occur during your run will be dealt with professionally.
The route will be fully marshalled to help with directions and ongoing support. For the 6.5 mile race there will be one water station. For the 10.5mile race there will be 2 water stations. Although water bottles will be available at these stations, we strongly encourage all runners to bring a reusable water bottle to reduce the amount of plastic used across the event. Medical cover on route is provided by mountain rescue.
